About the role

We're looking for a motivated and multi-skilled operator to join the team. Every day will be different however the main tasks associated with the role are to operate heavy machinery and plant (including mobile plant) equipment associated with the movement and processing of cement and materials. Tasks will include loading loose materials, debagging fly ash, bagging cement, operating a vacuum crane and other associated tasks.

Hours per week

Minimum 40 hours with over time as needed.  Includes rotating roster with night shifts and weekends.

The primary tasks will be:

• Receiving, loading, unloading and despatching goods
• Loading loose material into the Ball Mill hopper using a front-end loader
• Debagging fly ash into the hopper using a fork truck
• Bagging cement from a hopper using a fork truck
• Controlling and monitoring the operation of heavy machines.
• Ship unloading operating the joystick controlled vacuum crane and manoeuvring the vacuum unit along the dock train lines
• Beneficial to have mechanical maintenance experience.

Minimum requirements – one-year previous relevant experience in the following areas:

• Trade background/experience in manufacturing/flour mill or similar background
• Heavy machinery operation experience
• Forklift, fork truck and front-end loader driving experience would be advantageous (we will train in NZ standards and issue OSH license)
• Ball Mill experience
• Communications skills, ability to deal with stakeholders and customers across a board spectrum.
